Lacrosse is a competitive team sport with 10 players allowed on the field- 3 attack, 3 middies, 3 defenders and 1 goalie. It is the “fastest game on two feet” and the fastest growing sport in the nation. It is also the oldest organized sport in North America – and anyone can learn to play.
The Catholic High lacrosse program seeks to provide student-athletes with support in every facet of the sport of lacrosse. No experience is necessary to join our team. Our coaches develop young talent at the junior varsity level and assist impact varsity players with the college recruiting process.
During the fall semester voluntary stick skill training, and strength and conditioning workouts are conducted three times a week. The goal of stick skills is to allow new players to learn the fundamentals of throwing and catching during the off season so they can practice these skills at home. Strength and conditioning workouts allow those players not on other school team sports to remain active during the off season.
Spring season practices begin in early January. Four two-hour practices a week are conducted on the Catholic High school field. While in season, every minute is carefully planned to maximize the talent, character, and focus of our players. Each practice is organized to improve basic skills with time honored and cutting-edge drills that help break down each aspect of the sport of lacrosse. These practices continue throughout the spring semester ending in May with the Natural State Lacrosse Championship.
Our game schedule consists of approximately 25 games which include 10 junior varsity and 15 varsity games. Local games are played on weeknights with Northwest Arkansas games played on Saturdays.
LRCHS Lacrosse is a founding member of the Natural State Lacrosse League competing against five highly competitive programs: Bentonville High School, Episcopal Collegiate School, Fayetteville High School, Pulaski Academy and Springdale United. We also compete against regional non-conference schools from Bryant, Tulsa, Memphis and surrounding areas.
