Brother Richard Sanker, C.F.P. has been a member of the Brothers of the Poor of Saint Francis for 57 years. Brother, as he is called, earned his Bachelor of Arts from Manhattan College in French, and his Masters from Xavier University in Cincinnati in Guidance and Counseling.
Brother was assigned to five different schools in Cincinnati, New Jersey, Iowa and Arkansas before joining Catholic High in 1983. During his 37 years at Catholic High, he has taught math, French and senior religion. He also was the College Guidance Counselor until 2017, and was available for personal counseling as well. Presently, Brother teaches the senior religion class and is a personal counselor to the students.
Growing up with an older brother that went to Catholic High, I knew I wanted to be a part of what he always referred to as “The Brotherhood.” I love that I’m able to explore so many of my interests, from joining Broadcast Journalism and JROTC my freshman year to becoming president of the drama club as a junior. As I get ready for college in two short years, I’m thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given at Catholic High that will help me stand out in the application process.
